• "Management is about persuading people to do things they do not want to do, while leadership is about inspiring people ot do things they never though they could." - Steve Jobs

  • My leadership style has evolved over the years, and I pride myself in not having a "one-size-fits-all" approach to leadership. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of personality types as a leader, a peer, and a direct report. I've found ways to navigate these complex relationships and tailor my approach to the most product and efficient means possible.

For some that may mean getting directly to the point and not discussing anything but the task at hand, while others want to discuss your family and your hobbies to build rapport before diving in. Maybe there is a balance of firm delivery of critique and for others you may need to be more gentle and provide the classic "compliment sandwich" style of feedback. These are all tools that I have added to my toolbox of leadership over the years and have found myself able to develop powerful, highly effective teams that deliver amazing results.

As a Lead Researcher/Designer who has lead teams of up to 12 people across as many as 5 projects at a time and I've had the opportunity to mentor and coach a number of talented UX practioners. This is one of my favorite parts of my job and something that I take great pride in. I have had the opportunity to train and mentor Researchers, Designers, and Usability Experts regardless of field in Romania, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, Canada and across the United States. Below are a few images from some of the different projects I have helped them on.
