Tapped to Lead a Company Effort

After being at 3Pillar Global for a while and showing what I'm capable of I was asked to engage in an internal project that would have far reaching impact across the organization. I was asked to lead the UX Research and Design efforts for our own website, redesigning it to have more appeal to our target clientele.

    Redesigning in an Active Environment

Unlike many of our client engagements where we could redesign behind the scenes and just launch a new product, we had to maintain a balance between keeping our homepage and various landing sites up and running while building out the next generation that solved client needs.
  •  What did we learn? How did we change?

Our homepage wasn't speaking to our abilities.

We had to reevaluate who was looking at our page and what they were looking for. We were dealing with people who were trying to deliver a short list of potential partners to the decision maker within their company. We needed to standout from our competition, and do it quickly.

Too many "Calls To Action" were a turn-off.

Having too many calls to action (CTAs) on each page were creating an air of confusion. When people were scrolling through the page and every CTA lead to the same contact page, they stopped clicking on things, which resulted in them missing some key direction and information.

We needed to show off our talent.

3Pillar has some amazing talent in its organization and continues to grow in areas that provide it a unique ability to solve complex problems. The teams have built some truly amazing solutions over the years and their work wasn't being featured in a way that instilled confidence at first glance.

Pictures are truly worth a thousand words.

As simple as it may seem at first glance, we found out that some potential clients were instantly turned off by pictures on our page. Out of date tech, group pictures with no branding and other issues made it seem like we were using stock photos and lacked the personality that 3Pillar possesses.

    Prototypes for the win.

We distilled many of these findings and built out our wireframes to take out to the customers. We tested our new website against the previous one to rave reviews and have since seen an influx in not only visitation, but also in engagement with key site features.
